Building Technician

Tasks descriptions

 Rotation position - work locations - Nunavik Bases (Northern Quebec):
  • Verify Air Inuit buildings by carrying out visits and inspections, and maintain basic facilities, non-technical components;
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on non-technical components of the installations (walls, floors, etc);
  • Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with company policies and as prescribed by the laws, procedures, practices and guidelines in accordance with the environment , health , safety and protection against fires, and with all other applicable measures;
  • Provide observations on the conditions and deficiencies of the facilities, non-technical components;
  • Provide repair and maintenance reports to the administrative personnel;
  • Ensure the upkeep of tools;
  • Maintain an up to date inventory of equipment and materials;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of general building maintenance experience;
  • Ability to respect and properly implement the processes and practices for the maintenance of facilities;
  • Ability to work in a secure manner;
  • Possess communication skills that allows for the transfer and exchange of information;
  • Possess a professional attitude (teamwork, autonomy, enthusiasm, sense of initiative, organizational skills, etc.);
  • Ability to communicate in at least 2 of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
  • Must be prepared to travel;
  • Must be willing to wear protective equipment;
  • Must be willing to work indoors and outdoors;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of Outlook;
  • Knowledge of plumbing and heating (an asset).

Working conditions

Rotational schedule, 2 weeks ON , 2 weeks OFF;
Candidate may be eligible for housing provisions.

Benefits and Salary

The salary is determined according to our compensation policy – Level 8 (Base $45,017)
